Once again, we’ve spent a whole year eagerly awaiting the biggest Contao event, and the Contao Summit has, once again, lived up to our expectations.

For most people, the first item on the programme was already on their to-do list even before the Contao Summit began. The get-together took place from 6.30 pm in the conference hotel’s restaurant. Over dinner in a cosy atmosphere, we got to know some new faces and had lively conversations. This was preceded by the journey to Leipzig from all corners of the DACH region, which many participants had announced on Slack. For some, the morning came round all too soon after the exciting conversations and discussions.

Three early risers kicked off the day in their running shoes and popped over to the Elsterbecken. As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm – even if we’re still looking for it. After the obligatory ticket collection and entry, Leo Feyer opened the summit with his keynote speech. In it, he presented the many fantastic new features planned for Contao 6.1. The new "elephants in the room" – the API and MCP – were met with great enthusiasm. If you’d like to find out more, I can highly recommend Yanick’s recap of the second Core Developers’ Meeting 2026. This was followed by a host of exciting talks and workshops. In the workshops, participants learnt from Fritz Michael Gschwantner and Moritz Vondano how to navigate the Twig jungle at turbo speed. After lunch, the programme continued. The first day of the Contao Summit was rounded off with a visit to one of Leipzig’s most famous venues – the Vodkaria. There, we were treated to a menu full of international dishes and the chance to reflect on the first day of the Summit and delve deeper into the discussions from the breaks.

The second day also began for the Larks with a tour of Leipzig. On the second day of the summit, alongside the talks, there was an agency track aimed at focusing on topics such as processes, collaboration and client communication. The varied programme was also expanded to include several Open Space tracks. The successful event – which flew by far too quickly – concluded with a panel discussion featuring the core team.

We’re delighted that we at trakked were able to make a small contribution to the success of this event – the most important one for us, organised by and for Contao.

My verdict: biscuits good, all good.

A huge thank you goes out to the organising team and all the participants.

We’ll see you again in autumn 2027 at the latest.
